As far as i can recall, for all my life, everytime Hari Raya came, my mummy will make a few kuih raya mainly pineapple tart, mazola cookies, cornflakes, choc chips, choc rice, just to name a few. But of all the cookies that she made every year, there's one cookies that i really really love the taste. It's called Biskut Denmark....
It all started from my auntie, Mama Jah, who once worked in a hotel in Penang. She got the recipe from one of the chefs at the hotel. She copied it and my mummy took the recipe, and since then, Biskut Denmark has been in the list of "to-do" cookies for Hari Raya.
Every year, i've never bothered to take the recipe and all i did was just helped out a little bit, mostly tolong makan jer.... hahaha...
So this year, i told my mum, i'm gonna do the Biskut Denmark from scratch.
Firstly, we bought the ingredients (not only for Biskut Denmark, but for all the cookies i've listed above including some fruit cake and chocolate moist cake too!!! yum yum!).
As a start, i followed my mum buying all the ingredients. So last friday afternoon, we bought some ingredients in kelana jaya, there's a baking supply shop but the shop's selling sooooo expensive. So we decided to go to Klang market on Saturday and there's also a cheap, so much cheaper baking supply shop opposite Meru wet market. We bought pineapple - to make the pineapple tart jam at the market, ground peanuts and some other stuffs.... I also bought 'bunga api' for Lil Guwapo....
After buka puasa on Saturday, we all played the bunga api i bought in Klang... Lil Guwapo was really enjoying playing....
It was really enjoying watching my son playing the 'bunga api', and my mind still excited of making Biskut Denmark on Sunday....
Came Sunday, went to Mummy's house at 10 am, and she was doing Kuih Baulu already....
I didn't waste any minute.... the moment i reached mum's house, i straight away opened the recipe for Biskut Denmark and started combining all the ingredients needed for the cookies...
You wanna know the recipe??? I don't think i can give out the recipe... hehehe.... it has to be a secret!!! Woohoo...
As you can see from the pictures, they looked yummy and they tasted double yummy....
YUM YUM YUMMY is all i can say!
Night time, the whole family buka puasa at El Rancho Steamboat Buffet.... burrpppp....
